Figura Launch

You are invited to attend an intimate launch event for simétrie's new collection of bag forms and small accessories.

FIGURA is the culmination of research by founder and bag artist Simone Agius into Malta's megalithic structures from thousands of years ago. These structures, older than the pyramids at Giza, have sculptures within of 'fat goddesses', that somebody carved and placed in a place of reverence. Simone found solace in these curvy forms, being in a bigger body herself.

The bag silhouettes are directly inspired by the goddess found inside the Ggantija temple ruins on the Maltese island of Gozo. The sculpture is very wide, with very thick legs, with what looks like a pleated skirt covering the top of the legs. These features informed four new designs ~ the Figura Tote, the Figura Baguette, the Figura Oculare Case, and the Figura Wallet.
