Film Screening and Book Launch: Guest Room
Description
Celebrate the start of horror season with us at The Brownson Center at Maple Grove Cemetery for a premier screening of the short independent film, GUEST ROOM, directed by Blanca Franck and based on the writing of G. N. Jones.
The event doubles as a book launch for Jones' most recent collection of short horror fiction, Invasive! Franck and Jones will be joined by the cast and crew for a full reading of the source material and will discuss the process of adapting the story from page-to-screen.
Book signing and refreshments to follow.
Tickets are $25 and include a copy of Invasive.

Blanca Franck (Actor/Writer/Director)
Blanca Franck is a New York-based actor, writer, and director drawn to emotionally grounded stories about human connection and all the beautifully complicated things we carry. As the writer and director behind Guest Room, she loves creating honest, character-driven work that gives people something to feel, think about, and maybe talk about on the drive home. Blanca continues to explore storytelling both in front of and behind the camera through film, television, and independent projects. When she’s not acting, writing, or dreaming up her next story, you can usually find her soaking up life with her favorite little co-star—her baby boy, Logan.
G.N Jones (Author)
G. N. Jones is an up-and-coming indie author, poet, screenwriter, and musician. His debut novel, Hecatomb of the Vampire, released September 26th, 2023 and its younger sibling released a year afterwards. They’re the first two entries in The Dark Rituals saga, and he's steadily working on the third book in the series, short stories and other novels, mostly in the horror and dark fantasy genres. He is a Hare Krishna, lives in New York City, and loves his wife. He's probably in a dark room right now playing Street Fighter.
Rylan Morsbach (Joey)
Newbie to film! Theatre credits: In NYC: Fiorello! at Classic Stage Company (co-pro with Berkshire Theatre Group). With Tier 5 Theatre Co: Pride & Prejudice, The Secret Garden, Dracula: Blood and Glitter, Treasure Island. Credits in Western Massachusetts: The Importance of Being Earnest (The Majestic Theatre), Love's Labor's Lost (Shakespeare & Company), Shrek The Musical, The Music Man, Mary Poppins, The Homecoming, A Christmas Carol (all at BTG), I Am My Own Wife, Scaramouche Jones (Pauline Productions). Sound designer for several original plays with Mouths of Babes Theatre in Wilmington, NC. Training: The Barrow Group, Balance Arts Center, Berkshire Theatre Group, UNC Wilmington, Pioneer Valley Performing Arts.
Kimmarie Bowens (Mrs. Ramkrishna / Evelyn)
Kimmarie Bowens appears in her third Blanca Franck short film, “Guest Room,” following “Debunked” and “The Devil’s Illness.” She originated Jane in the first staged production of Israel Horovitz’s BBC Radio play “Phone Tag,” later reprising it for Barefoot Theatre’s “70/70 Horovitz Project.” Her credits include works by Horovitz, Landford Wilson, Levy Lee Simon, Arlene Hutton, Amy Tofte, Jonathon Ward, Craig Pospisil, Jon Swan, Tanya Perez, and Kate McCamy. Kimmarie is also a stage manager, singer, producer, playwright, and member of New Circle Theatre.
Thierno Diallo (Entity/Mailman)
Born and Raised in New York City, Thierno Diallo has been trained by acclaimed coaches Susan Batson, Terry Knickerbocker, and Anthony Abeson, Thierno specializes in character exploration and delving into the depths of emotions. TV credits include recurring roles on 'Emigre' with Chuku Modu and a memorable co-star appearance on ID Network. He also graced Off-Broadway stages at The Barrow Group. His work in the award-winning short film 'Hawashi' and an upcoming feature with Shawn Antoine in “The Sight Unseen” in 2026 showcases his versatility and dedication to the craft.

Take E or F Train to the Kew Gardens/Union Turnpike Station.
(Sit in the front car of the train). Walk upstairs and look for Kew Gardens Road and walk three blocks to Lefferts Blvd. where the Victorian Administration Building is located.
To reach The Brownson Center at Maple Grove Cemetery, continue along Kew Gardens Rd until you find The Center at 129th St.

THE BROWNSON CENTER AT MAPLE GROVE is located at the intersection of KEW GARDENS ROAD and 129th STREET. Cars can enter the gate and follow the YELLOW arrows. They can start to park their cars on the right side of the road (RED Arrows).
When people leave, they can follow the BLUE arrows around that small triangle and follow the BLUE arrows back to the exit. ALL OTHER GATES WILL BE CLOSED. Only The Center Gates will be open.
