Film screening and Fundraiser for Palestine
Event description
Central Coast Friends of Palestine is pleased to present an afternoon of solidarity with Palestine on the Central Coast.
Dare to Struggle Films, makers of Palestine under Siege, has released its latest documentary on the Palestinian struggle for self-determination.
Palestinians Don't Need Sidewalks takes us on a journey through occupied Palestine. It profiles, through Palestinian eyes, life under Israeli occupation. The film builds on the investigation, by a Jewish professor, a Palestinian student activist and a former politician, into Israel’s settler colonial, apartheid society as documented in “Palestine Under Siege”. From before 1948, the zionist project has been working to ethnically cleanse the country of Palestinians.
We will have a Q&A with one of the film makers Lee Rhiannon after the film.
In addition we are organising a fundraiser for direct aid to Gazan Families, including a bake sale, sale of local crafts and a raffle.
All funds raised (after covering costs) will be donated to the families in Gaza and the Hebron Human Rights defenders who assisted in the making of the film.
We hope to bring the community we have built together for an afternoon of connection and shared solidarity with the struggle and resilience of our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
