FILM SCREENING & PANEL ON HOMELESSNESS IN AUSTRALIA WITH THE IAN & SHIRLEY NORMAN FOUNDATION

Join us for a documentary film screening of Under Cover: The Hidden Faces of Homelessness. The event will be hosted by the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation with staff and students of the Development Studies program at the University of Newcastle. The film focuses on the experiences of a small group of older women who represent the fastest growing group of people experiencing homelessness in Australia. We will be joined by writer, director and producer of the film Sue Thomson and one of the women featured in the film who will also be part of a panel with some workers from women’s housing services. The panel will talk after the film about challenges and solutions for this housing crisis.

Following the screening and panel discussion, refreshments will be provided for deeper conversations around these important issues.

Join us to meet some amazing women in our community, listen to stories of survival, and amplify their voices.
