Event description

Join us for a special screening of Nguura Muruy (Forest Camp) – A Front Line Story, a powerful documentary capturing the frontline resistance to native forest logging in Newry State Forest, 2023.

Told through the voices of Gumbaynggirr custodians and local allies, Nguura Muruy shares the story of community, courage, and connection to Country. It follows a historic alliance formed to protect sacred land from the threat of native forest logging — and the grassroots victory that followed.

This screening is hosted by Greenhouse in proud partnership with the Native Conservation Council of NSW, as part of our ongoing commitment to spotlight Indigenous leadership, environmental justice, and community-led action in line with the 2025 Reconcilation Week theme Bridging Now to Next.
