Film Screening of Palestinians Don't Need Sidewalks
Event description
Bay and Basin Amnesty is screening Palestinians Don't Need Sidewalks and Q & A as a fundraiser for Hebron Human Rights Defenders and Amnesty Australia. Tickets are $20, with $10 going to the Huskisson pictures - the cost of running the event and $10 going to the Hebron Human Rights fund & Amnesty International.
This is the latest documentary from Dare to Struggle Films and takes viewers on a journey through the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. We meet local Palestinians, who describe the reality of life under Israeli occupation.
The makers of the film partnered with the Hebron Human Rights Defenders, who gathered footage of daily Palestinian life, Israeli crimes and attacks on young children. They also conducted interviews that reflect on life for Palestinians after October 7.
The film also looks at Australia’s complicity with the Israeli genocide, particularly through the Australian government’s commitment to reinvigorating its manufacturing base by integrating into the US military supply chain. It also touches on the role of the mainstream media and how the Zionist lobby has managed to control the information that is presented via these channels. This film goes way beyond how mainstream media portrays Israel. It is a film well worth seeing.
