Film Screening - Palestinians Don't Need Sidewalks
Event description
Film Screening: Palestinians Don’t Need Sidewalks
Dare to Struggle Films, makers of 'Palestine under Siege', has released its latest documentary on the Palestinian struggle for self-determination.
'Palestinians Don't Need Sidewalks' is the latest documentary from 'Dare to Struggle Films' that takes viewers on a journey through the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. The film conducts interviews with local Palestinians, who describe the reality of life under Israeli occupation.
The film also looks at Australia’s involvement in the current violent events in Gaza, particularly through the Australian government’s commitment to reinvigorating its manufacturing base by integrating into the US military supply chain. It also touches on the role of the mainstream media and how the Israel lobby has managed to influence the information that is presented via these channels. This film goes way beyond how mainstream media portrays Israel. It is a film well worth seeing.
In this film, 'Dare to Struggle Films' partnered with the Hebron Human Rights Defenders, who gathered footage of daily Palestinian life, Israeli violence and attacks on young children. They also conducted interviews that reflect on life for Palestinians after October 7.
'Dare To Struggle Films' is a production company that covers the stories of struggle and resistance of people fighting for liberation and self-determination.
The film's length is 71 minutes and will be followed by a Q&A session with Michelle Berkon and Ahmed Abadla, so please come prepared with as many questions as you can!
Funds raised from the film will go to cover the catering costs for the event and to support the Hebron Human Rights Defenders.
This event is hosted by Eastern Suburbs for Palestine and HOPE Uniting Church, and endorsed by Jews Against Occupation '48, Dare to Struggle Films and Palestine Justice Movement Sydney
We hope to see you then.
