Finance for All: Creating Social Impact through Financial Education

Finance for All explores how financial education can extend beyond the boundaries of a Business School to create meaningful social impact. This interactive session traces the journey of taking financial education from finance students to students across other disciplines, and beyond the university to communities where financial capability can help address broader issues of vulnerability, inclusion and financial independence.

The session explores efforts to close gaps in access to financial education, including engaging women, students from disadvantaged backgrounds, migrant communities and local communities experiencing financial vulnerability. It will also consider the growing international reach of this work and share the opportunities, challenges and lessons learned in taking financial education across faculties, into communities and beyond borders.

Dr Natalie Oh

UNSW Business School

Dr Natalie Oh is a finance academic at the UNSW School of Banking and Finance whose work brings together financial education, educational innovation and social impact. Drawing on experience across academia, the World Bank (DC) and the not-for-profit sector, she is passionate about extending financial education beyond traditional finance classrooms.

Through her Finance for All initiative, Natalie is broadening access to financial education across disciplines, communities and increasingly international contexts, particularly for those traditionally underserved by financial education. Her research has been published in leading international finance journals, and her contribution to higher education has been recognised through Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
