Financial Scams - Staying safe online
Description
Scams and fraud impact millions of Australians, and the problem continues to grow. That’s why CommBank is offering free Staying Safe Online seminars for community groups across Australia. These seminars provide practical guidance on how to identify and avoid scams and fraud.
Our knowledgeable presenters encourage engagement and allow plenty of time for questions and discussion.
The seminar covers topics including:
• Why staying safe online is so important
• Understanding scams and fraud
• Creating strong passwords
• Banking online safely
People over 65 are more likely to lose money to scams than any other age group; however, scams affect people of all ages. There is no age limit for attending, and anyone interested is welcome to join.
Hills Community Aid is offering a series of workshops as part of Get Online Week, supported by funding from Good Things Foundation. They are free, but registrations by RSVP's are required. You don't need to bring your ticket, your registered name will be on our list on the day.
