Find a Frog in February - Obi Obi Creek Survey
Event description
Let's go Frogging! Would you like to learn more about our local frog species and contribute valuable data to Mary River Catchment Care Group's Find a Frog in February citizen science project? Join us as we survey a section of Obi Obi Creek in the Maleny Community Precinct. This survey will be facilitated by Barung's very own resident frog expert, Rhett Dodd, who has spent many many nights in the bush searching for and learning about our beautiful local frog species. The evening will start at the Barung Community Nursery with a presentation on local frog species, survey methodology and data collection, before heading down to the creek after dark to find frogs!
This is an off-track survey along the banks of Obi Obi Creek. There will be some steep sections, thick bush to push through and many trip hazards. We recommend participants have a good level of fitness.
