A skills-building training for changemakers

In a rapidly shifting political landscape, changemakers need to be equipped to interpret the law and influence policy. Legal knowledge isn’t just technical — it’s transformational. We’ve seen firsthand how the ability to find, read, and understand the law empowers practitioners to drive meaningful, lasting change.

Finding & Reading the Law is a live virtual training designed to improve your legal knowledge; build authentic, real-time connections with peers that spark insight and growth; and provide practical resources from seasoned facilitators.

This 2-hour training will include:

• An overview of key legal terminology to help you locate and understand the laws relevant to your work

• Real-life case examples to learn how to navigate legal resources and find critical information on laws, ordinances, and executive orders

• An interactive, skills-building activity to practice finding and reading state statutes

• Resources for continued learning and long-term skill development

• Access to a 1-hour follow-up session with ChangeLab attorneys to help you apply learnings to your work

This training has been successfully delivered virtually and in-person at national conferences by our team of attorneys and policy analysts with expertise in public health law.
