Event description

How to define, identify and approach clients who value design.

Presentation: Thursday 24 November 12:30 - 1:30 pm Australian EST (then available on-demand)*

To build robust sustainable studios designers need innovative, successful clients.
Clients who understand and value design.
Problem is, those clients are not necessarily those you get via referrals.
Clients who value design have a different risk profile to others.
They’re entrepreneurial.

This one hour presentation is a practical case study based on a ‘typical’ studio/agency. We explain how they defined an industry sector suitable for their skills; identified the ‘right’ clients within that sector and then approached the decision-maker within the business.

We will :

  • show how to define pillars of excellence
  • research industry sectors
  • demonstrate how to find prospects and research decision makers
  • use the design value ladder to profile prospects and their understanding of design value
  • examine other areas of the business where design value can be added
  • develop a design value proposition for pitching to the client
  • outline an action plan to get you finding clients who value design.

*Can’t make the day?
No problem, everyone who registers has 30 days access to the presentation ‘on-demand’ and a dedicated Slack channel Q+A forum.
