Finding Nature Finds Nature - The Gibberagong Track & A Passive House
Event description
At the start of each new season, we convene in nature for an experience that is replenishing, awakening and grounding. This Autumn experience will be no different.
Firstly, we will walk the Gibberagong Track in Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park followed by a tour of Chris Nunn’s PassivHaus AND lunch served by gus_tronomy. Real nature, time in and a tour of the first certified Passive House Premium building in NSW followed by excellent food. All with terrific company.
The Gibberagong Track is a four kilometre (kid-friendly) bushwalk that offers "creekside bushwalking with a scenic mangrove boardwalk, birdwatching and wildlife”. Described variously online as ‘scenic’, ‘peaceful’ and ‘a hidden gem’, this will be an idyllic start to the day.
After that we’ll make the short trip to Chris’s family home where he will generously offer a tour of his beautiful, sustainable and high performing home. With simply too many features to list, this place is phenomenal and a vision of what homes in this country and beyond need to be to participate in decarbonised and climate-changed futures while also taking the health, comfort and experience of those living in them seriously. Described as “the fruition of a lot of dreaming, planning and saving” this home is truly masterful.
Last but not least, and talking about masterful, is Gus_tronomy on food for lunch (and don’t forget coffee for the walk!). After all of that we’ll be ready to eat and we all know by now there is no-one better in the business to satiate with nutritious and delicious vegetarian fare.
Tickets won’t last long for this, so get in quick.
NB: There is a $12 national park entry and parking fee, and being a national park no dogs (or other pets!) are allowed.
