Who is this for?
This training is for anyone in the community who wants to be prepared with finding the right words to support someone who has disclosed a traumatic experience.
Program includes a snapshot of the current issues and trends for sexual assault, domestic & family violence, and how best to support the person who has disclosed to you, including ongoing support options within our local community.
Learning Outcomes
• Understand definitions of sexual assault, domestic and family violence, self harm and suicide.
• Understand current statistics for the Wingecarribee and beyond, and factors which contribute to low disclosure/reporting.
• Understand how to respond to an individual who has disclosed a traumatic experience/s.
• Understand local referral and support options.
• Understand impacts of supporting someone who has experienced harm.
• Ways to manage one's own mental health.
