Fines and Infringements - Is there a difference and what can I do about them?
Event description
Fines and infringements are common penalties for breaking the law, but do you know the difference? Infringements are issued for minor offences, such as speeding or parking fines, and can usually be paid without going to court. Fines, however, can be imposed by a court for more serious offences and may have additional consequences if left unpaid.
If you can’t afford to pay, there are options available, including payment plans or Work and Development Permits. Ignoring fines can lead to serious consequences, such as licence suspension or enforcement actions.
This session will help you understand your rights, how to deal with fines and infringements, and what to do if you're struggling to pay. Don’t let fines spiral out of control—know your options!
