Fireside Chat: International Women's Day
Event description
Join us for an intimate fireside chat with Liz Nyokabi and Sharmin Kabir to celebrate International Women's Day. Liz and Sharmin will be discussing the particular challenges girls face growing up in the Maasai tribes of Kenya, and in urban Bangladesh, where deeply ingrained cultural practices discriminate against women and girls - including child marriage, polygamy and gender-based violence.
Liz and Sharmin are both dedicated to creating safer, fairer societies. They work alongside parents and children, slum landlords and tribal chiefs, and are steadily paving the way for women to lead lives that they choose for themselves.
Event attendees will be welcome to join in the discussion and ask Sharmin and Liz questions.
Alongside heartfelt and informative chats, you'll have the option to make a collective impact for at-risk women and girls through this event. A donation is optional when booking your ticket, and all contributions will be shared between Liz and Sharmin to fund their pioneering work, enabling more women and girls to lead fulfilling lives.
