Join Jade Miles — author of Futuresteading: Living Like Tomorrow Matters and Huddle: Creating a Tomorrow of Togetherness, and farmer at Black Barn Farm — for an evening of shared food, fireside conversation and a gentle invitation to imagine things differently.

We'll begin as the day softens, with a conversation about futuresteading: what it means to live like tomorrow matters, why our everyday choices and rituals shape the world we're growing into, and how small, local acts can add up to something much bigger.

Then we'll wander through the home kitchen garden, where Jade will introduce you to one another and share the story of how futuresteading first took root at Black Barn Farm. It's a chance to get your bearings, discover a little of the place and begin connecting with the people you'll share the evening with.

Afterwards, we'll gather around a table laden with generous plates of food brought to share, before wandering down to the back of the farm to settle beside the fire. With the dark drawing in and the stars beginning to show, we'll share stories, ask big questions and explore what it might mean to create a tomorrow of togetherness.

There's no lecture to sit through, no perfect lifestyle to aspire to and certainly no expectation that you'll have it all figured out. Futuresteading is about having a go, finding your own way, making room for contradiction and discovering that a meaningful life can be built from the small things we do every day.

And you won't leave empty-handed. Expect a few useful treasures to take home: sourdough starter, kombucha SCOBY, veggie seeds and garden cuttings, along with fresh ideas, new connections and perhaps a slightly different way of looking at the life you're already living.

Part conversation, part shared feast, part fireside gathering, this is an invitation to slow down, connect with good humans and the natural world, and explore what a richer, more connected and joyful tomorrow might look like.
