    PRESENTERS

    Craig Wilkins

Craig has worked in the areas of public health, social services, environmental change and politics for over 30 years in for-purpose organisations, in the public service and in Parliament House. At the end of last year he stepped away from South Australia’s peak environment body, the Conservation Council of SA, after serving as Chief Executive for the last decade, and is now the National Director of the Murray Darling Conservation Alliance - the leading national conservation advocacy voice for a healthy Murray Darling river system. He straddles the insider/outsider divide as an appointed member of the Green Adelaide Board, Premier’s Climate Change Council, Adelaide Parklands Authority and Electranet’s Consumer Advisory Panel, while also leading and assisting community campaigns and movements for change. Craig is a passionate believer in collective altruism - people generously working together on behalf of others and the planet we call home.

    Dani Austin

Dani Austin is the current Coordinator at the Fleurieu Environment Centre, and was the Project Creator and Lead for the Red Cross Climate Ready Communities program - this project, in partnership with councils in South Australia, helps communities prepare for intensified extreme events and a changing climate.

    Paul Green

Paul Green is a local botanist with 45 years’ experience. He is currently passing on his experience and capacity building with community groups. His most recent project with FLEC has been undertaking the following two components of the Fire Wise project. 1. Updating the Coastal Gardens booklet to include information on fire wise local native plants. 2. Developing a Master List of Fire Wise native plants for the coastal and near coastal parts of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

This event is part of the Fire Wise Education Project being facilitated by the Fleurieu Environment Centre. The project is supported by the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife and has received grant funding from the Australian Government through the Preparing Australian Communities local stream.

The Fleurieu Environment Centre is part of the Greater Adelaide Environment Network seeded by Green Adelaide with support from the Hills & Fleurieu Landscape Board.
