Wild Plants and Native Uses: An Ethnobotany of Southern Nevada
with Ian Ford-Terry
Join us for Wild Plants and Native Uses: An Ethnobotany of Southern Nevada, a fascinating presentation by Ian Ford-Terry of the Springs Preserve. Discover how Indigenous communities and early inhabitants of Southern Nevada have long relied on native plants for food, tools, shelter, and medicine. Ian will also bring a selection of native plants for participants to see, touch, and sample, offering a hands-on experience with the flora that has shaped life in the Mojave Desert. Whether you're a plant enthusiast, a history buff, or simply curious about the natural world around you, this talk will provide valuable insight into the enduring relationship between humans and the plants of the Mojave Desert. Due to the weather, we’ll start things off with a tour of the ranch house guided by our very own movie cowboy Ron Safran, followed by the talk.
