Want to get a job in hospitality? The First Shift is a FREE three-week program designed to give you the practical skills, qualifications and confidence to get started in the hospo industry.
This isn’t just about learning how to make a coffee. We’ll help you understand what it’s really like to work in hospitality, build practical skills and develop the confidence to show up, communicate and thrive at work.
Across the program, you’ll get hands-on experience and training in:
Barista skills
Food & beverage service
RSA
Introduction to bar operations
How to apply for a hospitality job
How to be confident and effective in a hops job
Stress management and building resilience
Networking with confidence
Creating an action plan for your next steps
You’ll also hear directly from employers, connect with local hospitality businesses and finish the program with practical tools to help you take your next step into work.

After you register, someone from the Troublesmiths team will give you a call to chat through the program, answer any questions and make sure it’s the right fit for you.

The First Shift is FREE and designed for young people aged *16-24 who are keen to score a job in hospo or take their next steps towards work.
