Fishburners Brisbane Pitch Night

On Tuesday 6 October, we're hosting our first Brisbane Pitch Night as part of the launch week of Tank Stream Labs Brisbane. Six founders will pitch live to a room of investors, operators and ecosystem leaders, with more than $10,000 in prizes for the winner.

This is the official start of our interstate pitch nights. Brisbane, then more cities, then back again.

Sydney investors, in the room

We're bringing investors from Sydney up for this one.

For Brisbane founders, that's the part worth paying attention to. Getting in front of southern capital usually means a flight, a week of coffees and a lot of luck with timing. On 6 October they'll be here, in one room, for one night, watching Queensland founders pitch.

Coming back to Brisbane

This isn't our first time here.

Fishburners had a home in Brisbane in the earlier days, and a lot of the founders who built with us back then are still building today. Reconnecting with that community matters to us, and doing it alongside the launch of Tank Stream Labs Brisbane makes it the right moment.

The Brisbane ecosystem has grown up considerably since we were last here. This night is about the founders driving that.

What this event is

A curated pitch night hosted by Fishburners, the largest early-stage startup community in Australia.

Six selected founders pitch live. Three minutes each, then questions from our judges. The judges pick a winner, the room picks theirs, and both take home real prizes.

It is not a demo day and it is not a networking mixer with a stage attached. It is a room built so that founders who are actually building get seen by the people who can help them.

Why this night matters

Fishburners has supported over 35,000 founders and helped startups raise more than $2 billion.

The founders who pitch on our stages don't just participate. They raise capital, they win awards, they build real traction, and several have gone on to become the companies other founders point at.

For a lot of them, the pitch night was the front door.

Who we're looking for

Founders who have validated the thing (real customers paying, or signed commercial commitments if you're deep tech) and who are at the point where a room like this changes something.

You don't need to be raising millions. You don't need a perfect deck. You need something real and a reason it's happening now.
