Event description

We are excited to team up with Upper Mataura Fishing Connect and Fish & Game New Zealand to bring you Fishing for Farmers.

The day is targeted at farmers, growers and their families. Providing the opportunity to get off farm and try something new.

Catch up with other farmers and share how things are going on farm.

Everything will be supplied free of charge due to the amazing support of both Upper Mataura Fishing Connect and Fish & Game New Zealand, along with NSVets and Active Southland.

Nokomai Camp Paddock, Nokomai - sign posted off the main road, about 10 minutes along Nokomai Road.

Rural Support Trust National Ambassador Matt Chisholm will be hanging around for the day, spinning a few yarns while attempting to cast his line.

The event is free of charge but registrations are essential for planning and catering.

The Southland Rural Support Trust assists rural individuals and their families to get back on their feet following challenging circumstances such as financial, personal or climatic adverse events.

The Trust is part of a nation-wide network which is linked into local rural networks, as well as Civil Defence, Work and Income, and rural professionals.

The Trust members are local people who have themselves faced the challenges rural life brings. Free and confidential help is available through the Trust's coordinator.
