FIST: QUEER AMATEUR WRESTLING & ARM WRESTLING COMPETITION
Event description
FIST is a queer, trans non-binary led event presented by Morph aimed at creating a space for trans mascs to wear crop tops so short they may as well be shirtless.
Gonna be a night of solidarity, fundraising and the all-important highlight: armwrestling and amateur wrestling!
Alongside the entertainment there will be market stalls set up in the courtyard of echo & bounce.
We encourage you to wear whatever you want that makes you feel sexy!
Stay tuned via our instagram (@morph.com.au) to hear more about the raffle prizes, wrestling times, and performers!
ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION:
Front door entrance is by Stanley St, Woolloongabba.
Market stalls will be in the outside courtyard, if you have any accessibility issues (such as being unable to go up stairs) please feel free to enter via the back street in Jacob Lane, otherwise we recommend the front entrance.
Toilets/Bathrooms are also up a set of stairs to where the courtyard area is.
The dance floor is down a set of stairs in the basement, but the main performances will all be outside in the courtyard where DJs will play during the earlier hours as well.
Additionally, all music played in the basement will also be played in the bar where you can sit, relax and chat without missing a beat!
If you have any other questions, queries or concerns regarding accessibility, please feel free to contact echo&bounce directly (hello@echoandbounce.com) or send us a DM.
PARKING:
Parking is very limited. Parking in nearby side streets like Trinity Lane, Catherine Street, Merton Street is highly recommended.
We acknowledge this event takes place on the unceded lands of its traditional custodians: the Turrbal people (with the Yuggera peoples it's tertiary custodians). We acknowledge that these peoples are and have always been the original storytellers, musicians and artists of this land for over 65,000 years. “Australia” always was and always will be Aboriginal Land. We give our gratitude to the true owners of the land and we pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
