    Wally Lewis

Affectionately known as ‘The King’, Wally Lewis is more than a Rugby League legend – he’s a Queensland sporting icon and one of the greatest players to ever take the field. Renowned for his fierce competitive spirit, extraordinary leadership and unforgettable State of Origin performances, Wally captained Queensland for a decade, led the Australian Kangaroos and became the inaugural captain of the Brisbane Broncos. His remarkable career earned him countless accolades, including the prestigious title of Rugby League Immortal in 1999. But Wally’s story extends well beyond the footy field. From his successful career in sports broadcasting to his passionate advocacy for important community and health causes, he continues to inspire Australians with his resilience, determination and down-to-earth character. With a lifetime of incredible stories, sporting triumphs and personal challenges to share, an afternoon with The King promises plenty of laughs, fascinating insights and a rare glimpse into the man behind the legend.

Meet Your Host

  • Ben Dobbin

    Ben Dobbin

A familiar voice to Queensland sports fans and a larger-than-life personality, Ben ‘Dobbo’ Dobbin is one of the state’s most recognised Rugby League commentators, broadcasters and event hosts. From his early days working as a jackaroo in the Northern Territory and a stock and station agent across Queensland, Ben has built a remarkable career in the media, becoming a leading voice of Rugby League on Triple M and a familiar face as Channel Nine’s League Insider. Known for his quick wit, straight-talking style and genuine connection with people, Dobbo brings plenty of personality, humour and sporting insight to every stage he steps onto. A passionate Queenslander with strong regional roots, he’s also a highly sought-after auctioneer and MC, lending his talents to events and charitable causes across the country. With his infectious energy, sharp banter and knack for getting the best stories out of his guests, Dobbo is the perfect man to steer another unforgettable Fitzy’s Feast. In fact, he's becoming quite the regular at this event, and we don't mind one bit!

Charity Partner

  • Hope for Our Children

    Hope for Our Children

Every great Fitzy’s Feast has a cause worth getting behind, and this November, we're proud to support Hope for Our Children, a remarkable Toowoomba-based charity making a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people. This not-for-profit works to reduce the impact trauma on the vulnerable children in Queensland. For the very first time, we welcome Hope for our Children as Charity Partner for the up-coming Fitzy's Feast. Established in 2013, the organisation began with a simple but powerful mission: replacing the garbage bags used by children entering or moving through foster care with backpacks filled with essential belongings, offering a little dignity, comfort and hope during an incredibly difficult time. Since then, Hope for Our Children has grown into a much-loved community organisation, delivering practical support, meaningful programs and positive experiences for children in care and the dedicated carers who support them. From their Bags of Hope initiative to their Dogs of Hope program and beyond, their work is driven by compassion, connection and the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, supported and valued. Meet the Chair, Clayton Menyweather on the day, purchase raffle tickets, bid on an auction and enjoy your time at Fitzy's knowing proceeds will be donated to this brilliant not-for-profit. We're delighted to shine a spotlight on this wonderful local cause and help make a difference, one Fitzy’s Feast at a time!

Beer Partner

  • Queensland Beer Co

    Queensland Beer Co

What better beer to serve at a long lunch with The King than one that's proudly Queensland through and through? We're thrilled to welcome Queensland Beer Co. as our official beer partner for Fitzy's Feast! Independently owned and operated by Queenslanders, this homegrown brewery brings together the brewing heritage of Ballistic, Catchment and Fortitude, backed by some of the biggest legends to ever pull on a Maroons jersey – including our very own guest of honour, Wally Lewis! Proudly brewed, canned and packed right here in Queensland, their flagship Original Mid is a crisp, refreshing 3.5% beer made for everything from knock-offs to kick-ons, footy afternoons and good times with great mates. With a passion for local brewing, Queensland pride and a fair bit of sporting royalty behind the brand, we reckon they're the perfect fit for Fitzy's Feast. In fact, we'll be pouring it just for the ocassion for the very first time on November 26. Here's cheers to keeping it local and raising a glass to The King!
