Event description

Alison Middleton is a Perth-based writer of flash fiction, micro memoir and contemporary romance.

Most recently, her short story, String Theory, was published in the Autumn 2025 edition of the little journal, marking the third time she's worked with the publishers and editors at Night Parrot Press.

Her current work in progress is a contemporary romance novel with the working title Neurospicy, which won the US-based League of Romance Writers’ prestigious Emily Award for contemporary romance in March 2025.

Alison is also a finalist in the Emerging category of the Romance Writers of Australia’s 2025 Opal competition, which will be announced in August 2025.

The workshop will cover the processes entailed in creating Flash Fiction. To quote Alison, flash fiction is a "compelling and rule-breaking" genre.
