Event description

Journey Into Awareness with Anam Thubten

Weeklong Silent Residential Retreat

Flathead Lake, Montana

Sept 5-12, 2025

Dharmata Foundation is excited to invite you to participate in a weeklong silent meditation retreat with Anam Thubten. Through the essential wisdom of Buddhism and his personal experience on the spiritual path, Anam Thubten brings alive the timeless teachings of the Buddhist tradition and invites everyone to participate.

Event Description:

Awareness is a state of mind that is not trapped by all our mental habits, which often cause suffering. It has qualities of stillness and wisdom. It allows us to immediately experience a non-egoic state of who we are as well as the true nature of reality, unfiltered by concepts, opinions, ideas, and the matrix of duality. It allows us to love and celebrate this very existence. The teachings of Nyingma masters of Tibetan Buddhism show us how to access that state through meditation practices. Anam Thubten will give talks and offer guided meditation based on those teachings. This meditation retreat will be a conducive environment in which we can be immersed in awareness through silence and sitting meditation.

Location:

Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp

Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp is a rustic property that includes cabins and a beautiful Retreat Center located on the edge of Flathead Lake. Rustic means that most walking will be on gravel and grass pathways and almost all lodging is shared. We will have exclusive use of the camp for the week. During breaks, there are hiking opportunities on trails through lovely Ponderosa Pine forests behind the Camp and along the lake shore.

To honor the sacred container of this retreat, everyone is asked to attend the entire retreat.
