Class of 2024 - Year 12 Formal

It is our pleasure to invite you to this year’s Faith Lutheran College Senior Formal, which will take place at the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre on Thursday 12 September 2024. 

This very special event will celebrate our Year 12 Seniors, commencing with arrivals followed by canapés with parents, guardians, formal partners and staff members.

Afterwards, our Year 12 Seniors will move to the dining area for their formal dinner and dancing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: If I am in Year 12, am I able to bring a partner who is a Faith Lutheran College student from another year level?

A: Yes. Partners may be:

• another Faith Lutheran College Year 12 student,
• another Faith Lutheran College student from a different year level, or
• a guest external to Faith Lutheran College.

Q: How many guests can each student bring?

A: Each Year 12 student is permitted to bring one partner, and two additional guests. 

• These guests may include parents, family members or friends, and the allocation of two guests does include children. 
• Guests and partners require a ticket, and will be able to attend the event for the service of canapés before departing at 6.30pm.
• Requests to bring more than two guests can be made by contacting the Marketing Team (publicity@faithlcs.qld.edu.au), however, the ability to honour these requests will be subject to availability and our venue capacity.

Q: Can you explain the running of the evening with regard to partners, guests and parents?

A: The event will proceed as follows:

• Students will arrive at the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre, along with their partners and arrival vehicle, to be marshalled for arrivals.
• Arrivals for students and their partners will take place between 4.00pm and 5.30pm.
• Canapes, which will be attended by Parents/Guests and Partners, will commence at the conclusion of arrivals, with service taking place until 6.30pm.
• Parents/Guests and Partners will depart at 6.30pm; students will proceed to formal dinner.
• The event will officially conclude at 10.30pm, however students are free to depart from 9.30pm onward. Students will need to either be collected or have transport arranged from the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre.

Q: Can I take photographs of my student at the marshalling area at the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre?

A: We kindly ask that parents/guests refrain from taking photographs at the vehicle marshalling area, as our scheduling and organisation for each student’s arrival is our main priority.  There will be ample opportunity for taking or obtaining photographs throughout the evening including:

• Opportunity to take photographs as the student arrives;
• Professional photography of arrivals provided by Queensland School Photography Services;
• Opportunity to take photographs during canapés, utilising the surrounds of the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre;
• Opportunity for students to pose for portraits with Queensland School Photography after arriving and during the formal dinner proceedings;
• A roaming photographer capturing the event, with images made available to students and parents/carers after the event.

Q: If I am a Year 12 student, and I am over the age of 18, am I able to purchase alcohol?

A: No. Alcohol will not be available to students, their partners or staff members of Faith Lutheran College. Alcohol will be available for purchase for parents and guests who are of legal drinking age. Presentation of ID will be required at the bar.
