Faculty Learning Community (FLC): Current Topics in Teaching and Learning

​​This FLC offers faculty the opportunity to engage in a variety of current topics in teaching and learning in a supportive collegial space. Topics will be elicited from participants. Examples of suggested topics may be authentic assessments, inclusive and accessible practices, and academic integrity and GenAI. You will have the opportunity to share teaching and learning ideas, engage in thoughtful conversations, meet colleagues from a variety of disciplines, and enjoy this special time devoted to learning and reflection in community.  

 

*Note: This FLC qualifies as an elective for the Certificate in University Teaching and Learning (CUTL) for those participants who are interested in completing the certificate 


Participants will be able to: 

  • Reflect on the relevance of teaching and learning practices in relation to disciplinary and classroom contexts.  

  • Apply teaching strategies that emerge from shared inquiry and dialogue in the workshop.  

 

Additional outcomes for CUTL Elective credit:  

  • Facilitate an activity on a topic of the community’s choosing   

  • Create a small-scale, evidence-based teaching and learning open resource based on topics discussed in the FLC
