Flemington Roses
Exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of Flemington’s iconic rose gardens
Join Michael Ryan, the Victoria Racing Club’s Master of the Roses, for a rare behind-the-scenes tour of the spectacular rose gardens at Flemington Racecourse—on the eve of the Melbourne Cup.
Gain special access to one of Australia’s most famous floral displays and learn what it takes to prepare these world-class gardens for one of the country’s biggest events.
This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from the expert responsible for maintaining and presenting the roses at their absolute peak.
Following our tour we will head to Queens Park in Moonee Ponds where we will enjoy a walk around the lake and a picnic lunch provided by Harper Lee Café. Queens Park is a historic public park established in the 1860s. It features a picturesque lake with walking paths, a rose garden and a sunken garden. It was a first-night stopover camp for the Burke and Wills Expedition and a monument marking this connection can be found in the park.
