"Mermaid Country" is one description that has been given to Fleur Wiber's music. The Sydney-based singer-songwriter was born in Hamilton, Victoria, grew up in Macedon but now resides in Sydney. Coming from a softer, folk background, the songstress has turned up the alt-country rock sound in her recent recordings. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Fiona Apple, Wilco, Andrew Bird and Cat Power, Fleur Wiber experiments with dreamy melodies, raw lyrics and collaborations with a range of talented musicians. She loves to perform intimate shows where audiences can be taken to another realm.
