FLO MicroCourse: An Introduction to the GenAI in Teaching and Learning Toolkit

This one-week FLO MicroCourse aims to support educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to approach and integrate GenAI tools into their teaching practices ethically.
Participants will be introduced to the BCcampus GenAI in Teaching and Learning Toolkit, exploring practical applications, ethical considerations, and pedagogical implications that align with their existing core values.
Designed for beginners and those hesitant about AI technology, this course creates a supportive space for reflection and informed implementation.

Learning Outcomes:
- Define GenAI and articulate its potential impact and challenges in educational settings.
- Experiment with some GenAI tools through guided, hands-on activities designed to enhancing teaching and learning outcomes.
- Explore and discuss practical strategies to integrate GenAI into their teaching practices while upholding academic integrity and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Identify and reflect on collective, practical steps to address concerns related to GenAI in education.
You will engage with self-paced, asynchronous content, supplemented by two optional one-hour synchronous sessions:
- Tuesday, June 17, 2024, 11:00 to 12:00 PM PT
- Thursday, June 19, 2024, 11:00 to 12:00 PM PT
These sessions will be recorded if you cannot attend. You are encouraged to block off five to eight hours for learning during this one-week course.
