Event description
Shape your City’s Future, Shape the future of the Birrarung!!
We’re super excited to invite you to join us for the first ever Floating Youth Summit as part of the annual Birrarung Riverfest.
We believe that young people should be actively involved in deciding, designing and making Melbourne a better, more liveable and more sustainable city.
Together, let's go on a river journey through Wurundjeri, Bunurong and Boonwurrung Country; reconnecting with the past, learning from the present and dreaming about our shared future.
Listen to inspirational guest speakers talking about climate adaptation, ecosystem restoration and social justice; then let’s brainstorm bold ideas for youth-led projects, enterprises and even future swimming places.

We pay our respects to the living cultures of Wurundjeri Woiwurrung, Bunurong and Boonwurrung Peoples; their Elders past and present. Let's strive together to promote intercultural understanding, elevate Indigenous Ecological Knowledge and inspire all Melbournian's to become stewards for Country.
