Event description

Community members are invited on a bus tour of the Geographe Catchment for a unique insight into Busselton's drainage network.

Join infrastructure managers from the Water Corporation and the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation to learn how this system works, the role of flood modeling, and response measures. The bus tour will visit key drainage infrastructure sites:

  • Sabina River detention basin

  • Vasse diversion drain

  • Vasse Estuary surge barrier

  • Wonnerup sand bar

Light lunch provided. This event will involve boarding on and off via stairs of a large bus and also some walking on gravel roads up to a few hundred meters. 2 toilet stops are provided.

What to bring:

  • Sturdy enclosed footwear

  • Water bottle

  • Rain jacket if required

Arrive at 9.15am for bus departure at 9.30 am
