Join Touch Collective and Platform Presents for a TouchDesigner workshop where we will explore how the body can become an interface through finger and face tracking in TouchDesigner.

[Beginner friendly, no experience necessary.]

What we'll cover

• A foundational understanding of MediaPipe and its role in finger and face tracking in TouchDesigner.

• Practical skills in using tracking data to control real-time visuals and customise interactive effects with their own images.

• A starting point for independent experimentation and developing their own interactive projects.

​What to bring:

• Laptop (Mac or Windows) with working webcame

• TouchDesigner (Non-Commercial Edition) installed — free download at derivative.ca/download

This session is structured in three parts: an industry-insight talk, a hands-on workshop and time to connect with other creatives.

Part 1 — Intro + Demo

Minnie and Jess will introduce themselves, the collectives, what TouchDesigner is and demonstrate what we are building in the workshop today.

Part 2 — Workshop: Composing a live digital self-portrat

A hands-on session where Minnie and Jess guide you through building a finger and face tracking, real-time visual effect

Part 3 — Connect

Time to experiment, share what you've made and connect with others in the room.

Artists, designers, and creatives curious about integrating technology or interactivity into their practice. No coding or technical background needed, just a laptop, curiosity, and

a willingness to experiment.
