Panelists:

• Dr. Cassandra Newby-Alexander: Renowned historian and author, Dr. Newby-Alexander will share her groundbreaking research on the Underground Railroad and the role of the Elizabeth River, shedding light on the courageous journeys to freedom.
• Dr. Jody Allen: A distinguished scholar from William and Mary, Dr. Allen will discuss the profound ramifications of emancipation and its lasting impact on society.
• Kim Sudderth: Representing the Southside Coalition, Kim will provide insights into the contemporary Black experience, highlighting ongoing challenges and triumphs.
