Event description

Hunter Homeless Connect's Bay of Fires Trek participants Janelle Kirk, Peta Winney-Baartz & Alister Dalton invite you to a special Gold Class screening of Fly Me To the Moon! at Kotara on Wednesday 17th July 2024.

Join us on the red carpet with a glass of bubbles in support of Janelle and Peta's fundraising for local charity, Hunter Homeless Connect.

  • Arrival time: 6.00pm
  • Movie start time: 6.45pm

Starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, FLY ME TO THE MOON is a sharp, stylish comedy-drama set against the high-stakes backdrop of NASA's historic Apollo 11 moon landing. Brought in to fix NASA's public image, sparks fly in all directions as marketing maven Kelly Jones (Johansson) wreaks havoc on launch director Cole Davis's (Tatum) already difficult task. When the White House deems the mission too important to fail, Jones is directed to stage a fake moon landing as back-up and the countdown truly begins....

Tickets include: Nibblies and a drink on arrival (bubbles/beer/wine/soft drink). A raffle will be held on the night!

All proceeds from the event will go to Hunter Homeless Connect Inc.

Hunter Homeless Connect is a volunteer, not-for-profit organisation, whose focus is primarily to connect people in need in the community, with essential resources and support. Their mission is to create an inclusive environment without judgement, and to facilitate a community response to homelessness.

Hunter Homeless Connect provides opportunities for people who are experiencing homelessness, severe housing stress, or those at risk of homelessness to access support services in a way that recognises their inherent dignity, reduces social isolation and encourages a sense of connection with their community. This connection is provided via their annual Hunter Homeless Connect Day event and the regular distribution of their Community Services Directory.
