    Event description

Celebrate National Recycling Week with a free follow your waste tour guided by the team from Halve Waste!

Jump on the tour bus for an exclusive behind-the-scenes journey to find out what happens to your waste once it leaves your kerb. As part of the tour you will discover how simple actions, like sorting your waste correctly can make a meaningful difference for our environment.

On the tour you will see:

    - The Albury Waste Management Centre, one of Australia's most advanced waste management facilities; and

    - The Cleanaway Albury-Wodonga's Material Recovery Facility, where your kerbside recyclables are separated, baled and sold for reuse.

The tour involves a short bus ride from the Lavington Library first visiting the Albury Waste Management Centre to learn more about what happens to the contents of your red and green lidded bins. The bus will then transport you to Cleanaway's Albury-Wodonga Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Lavington, to view where your yellow lidded recycling bin contents are processed.

Participants will then be invited for a light morning tea and a Q & A session about what goes in which bin, and to discuss some of the problem items the MRF team are faced with daily.
