"Food Coop" Film Fundraiser
Event description
* Cash tickets are available at the Mullum Food Coop on Tues & Fri 10am-4pm, Thurs 2-5pm, Sat 10am-1pm. *
Come join us for a night of fun and support a great cause at The Drill Hall Theatre! We're hosting the Australian premier screening of the documentary Food Coop (2016) to raise funds to enhance a community owned resource - the Mullum Food Coop's bulk dry goods storage shed in Mullum Gardens Ecohub.
"The Most Successful Supermarket in New York City Has Zero Customers and 17000 Workers."
Get ready to dive into the diverse and multi-faceted world of this Brooklyn cultural icon. Having survived 50 years (1973 - 2023), Park Slopes Co-op has had significant input to community and social wellbeing. All shoppers are active members and investors, engaged in every possible way to contribute to its thriving operation, creating a supermarket institution like no other, far busier than anything else around.
Bring some cash on the night - delicious organic vegan meals, plus chai & cakes available. Have a night off cooking dinner with some nourishing time with your community. Sit back, and experience the film with friends and fellow supporters. Your attendance will make a difference! All money raised will be matched by a grant won for the Mullum Food Coop works.
Prepare to be amazed! It's an inspiration to community co-operation and resilience models.
Tickets are limited, discounts available for Mullum Food Coop members. See you there!
