Food gardening workshop with a local farmer

Do you want to get started on your home veggie garden or learn more to improve your existing garden?
Joe is an experienced food grower with a market garden plot at Mamre Homestead. He understands the conditions that impact growing in Penrith and is a brilliant educator.
You'll learn a lot in this workshop and be empowered to start growing some of your own food!
We will be covering the following topics:
Starting seeds
Preparing a garden bed
Feeding plants
Watering and irrigation
Pest management
What to grow when!
As well as covering all these essential food-growing topics, we will be planting seeds together for you to take home and add to your garden.
Please note that the same content will be covered in both workshops, so you only need to book into one.
Workshop 1:

Date: Saturday, 22 November 2025
