Footprints EcoFestival 2024: Grow a Native Bee Garden Workshop
Event description
Grow a Native Bee Garden Workshop for Children
Would you like to grow a bee garden?
A pollen and nectar rich garden for native bees and other pollinators keeps our environment healthy.
Australia has around 1700 native bee species that are different in size, colour and features, learn about the species that can be found in Sydney gardens.
Visit us to peek inside a native ‘sugarbag’ beehive – you will be fascinated by the tiny stingless bees busy at work inside the hive building honey pots.
Create a seed bomb for a burst of spring garden wildflowers or plant a Lemon Myrtle seed in an eco-pot. Native bees love to forage for nectar and pollen from the small creamy white flowers of the Lemon Myrtle tree.
Watch your garden spark to life with colour, buzzing, fragrance and pollinators!
This free workshop is presented by Inner West Council as part of Footprints Ecofestival 2024.
Located next to the Australian Native Bee Association stall.
