    Event description

Do you have a piece of jewellery sitting in a box needing a revamp or waiting for a new lease of life? Do you own a piece of inherited or pre-loved jewellery with a missing link, clasp or clip. Looking to shorten or give extra length to a thrifted piece or needing to restring a well-worn favourite? Bring along a broken item of jewellery and Chris will teach you how to fix it. Learn some basic jewellery repair tips and tricks and find out what tools are needed to do this. Necklaces, bracelets and earrings can be fixed on the day.

Christine Smalley is a local Inner West Sydney jewellery designer, passionate educator, community-spirited and sustainable style advocate who celebrates the maker culture, creativity and the joy and craftsmanship of handmade. With over 20 years teaching experience from TAFE, corporate and community groups she is dedicated to creating a teaching environment where participants can share ideas, be inspired and create.

Anna Kocsis from Mancika Designs asks-Why buy new jewellery?! I've been an upcycling jeweller for the past 15 years and have definitely learned to appreciate the craft and imagination that go into making something new from something old. Not only will your piece be unique but will also have a story to tell as well as obviously look stunning :). Find out how at this afternoon sessions.
