Footprints EcoFestival 2024: Postcards from the festival
Event description
Have some fun and connect with your artistic side and learn some techniques in drawing nature.
Join artists in residence of Whites Creek Cottage Beatrice Buckland-Willis and Jacqueline Larcombe for this drop-in art activity. Drawing on a blank postcard, spend some time in the permaculture food forest and capture some elements using observational drawing techniques. Back at the Creative Corner marquee, write a message on the back to a friend or loved one and share one key moment or learning from the festival. You are welcome to take the postcard home or include the address of the recipient and the facilitators will post it on your behalf.
This activity is designed to promote knowledge sharing around sustainable practices. All materials are provided and sourced from Reverse Garbage.
Beatrice is a Sydney-based artist, with a passion for all things print. In 2020 they completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the National Art School (AUS), majoring in Printmaking. Their practice is multi-disciplinary, combining traditional print processes with digital technologies and experimental installation. Jacq is a visual artist who lives and works on Gadigal Land/Sydney. She has an interest in the life-worlds of local places and the ways in which people leave visual marks on urban space.
