For The Joy of Paint
An acrylic painting workshop with artist Janie Porter using big brushes, palette knives and other helpful tools.
Composition fun and a look at the larger picture avoiding getting bogged down in the details.
We will create 2 works: 1 on canvas, 1 on board.
Janie will give a demonstration of techniques and guide participants to create their own landscape works.
This will be a confidence builder for those who feel they are too careful and a helpful introductory session for those who are nervous and don’t know where to start.
Please wear old clothes for painting and bring water to drink if you wish.
All materials supplied.
Bio
Janie Porter is a New Zealander and lives on Banks Peninsula/Horomaka.
She trained in England, New Zealand and at the University of Fine Arts in Hanoi, Vietnam.
She is known for her work in portraiture, landscape, seascape and birds. While working in various mediums, usually with a palette knife, she is constantly experimenting with transparency and form.
