For the love of Raranga - Spring 24
Event description
Kia ora weaving whanau
Spring has sprung and our next raranga wananga (flax weaving) weekend will be at the end of Sept 24. As usual our gatherings are for adults who have prior flax weaving experience and who want to continue to build their skills.
Spaces are limited so please register in advance to attend.
Our venue is again a beautiful light space in the heart of the Town Basin, Whangarei, close to many great cafes and free parking (more details after booking your ticket).
Saturday 28th & 29th Sept 24 - 9.00am-5.30pm - $60 includes:
- 2
full days of weaving (can leave unfinished projects overnight)
- Muka
harakeke provided to try
- Practised weavers on hand to share knowledge
- Network and get to know local weavers
- Share information and processes
Criteria to attend: You must be able to weave independently, harvest and bring your own materials (being a bit rusty is OK). Please note this is not a tutored workshop, but a weaving gathering. It is a shared space to support each other in our ongoing raranga journey, all weavers welcome.
Space is limited and is on a first come first served basis, so book your place now.
Ngā mihi nui/kind regards
Wendy
