Join Pizzini Wines’ charismatic founder Fred Pizzini to forage for truffles under the trees, as you learn the secrets of growing one of the most expensive ingredients in the world.
After you’ve unearthed some fresh truffles, you’ll return to the Pizzini barrel room to enjoy a curated tasting of their most prized cool-climate wines, including the stunning Nebbiolo. Fred will explain how, like truffles, this Italian grape is finicky about where it grows and is notoriously tricky to produce. It will only take a sip before you discover how this tantalising, earthy red is the perfect match for the mysterious black nuggets.
With your tastebuds well and truly fired up, head to the nearby Mountain View Hotel and enjoy a delicious five-course feast carefully curated to highlight the rich local truffles, and paired perfectly with a selection of Pizzini Nebbiolo.
