Foraged Cornucopias: Harvest Horn of Plenty
Description
Join us at Studio 101 to get fall festive with this family friendly workshop!
We will fill a small cornucopia with foraged fall foliage, creating a cornucopia to be hung on your door or set on your table to mark the season.
This will be a quick and easy workshop to get you feeling festive, and as the seasons change, you can transition to December holiday decor by changing out the fall-foraged goodies for cut greenery and berries.
The history of the cornucopia has been traced back nearly 3,000 years to Greek and Roman mythology. The story goes that baby Zeus, while feeding from a goat, broke off one of the goat’s horns, which then filled with food, providing him with eternal nourishment, so being named the “Horn of Plenty”. The harvest season, also marked for its abundance, has long been linked with the cornucopia which is often seen around the late November holiday.
