Foray into Oaxaca

Foray into Oaxaca is an 8-day group trip for women to experience Oaxaca City, Mexico in a personal and local way. It’s about connecting with the culture, the people, and the place while you’re there.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Oaxaca over the years, and it’s one of those places I continue to come back to. The food, the people, the markets, the art, the mezcal, the color, the history.. it’s a city with SO MUCH life and color. Oaxaca is known as one of the foodie capitals of Mexico and that is DEFINITELY true. The food is divine. But the trip isn't all about the food..

This trip has been built through the people I’ve met there.

Our cooking class is in my friend’s home. We’ll visit a small, family-run palenque to learn about mezcal from the Dad & Son's making it. My friend is teaching a Salsa Class. Another Friend will be leading our Food Tour. We’ll eat at local businesses, explore the markets, visit artisan communities, and experience Oaxaca through people who actually live there.

That’s what I want this trip to feel like

This trip is designed for you to be truly present where you are, without feeling rushed to the next experience. There’s an itinerary, but it’s flexible and adaptable to the group so we can slow down, stay a little longer, change things up, and really enjoy where we are instead of constantly watching the clock.

I want you to have the experiences that make Oaxaca special, while still having enough space to actually be there.

We’ll spend the week eating our way through the city, cooking together, learning about mezcal, exploring ancient ruins, hiking and swimming at a natural spring on top of a petrified waterfall, visiting local artisan towns, dancing, wandering, relaxing, and sharing a lot of meals around the same table.

And you don’t need to convince a friend to come with you.

Foray is designed for women who want to do the thing even when their friends’ schedules, budgets, or lives don’t line up. You can come by yourself. The accommodations, experiences, transportation for our scheduled outings, and details are already taken care of.

You really just have to get yourself to Oaxaca and show up.

Your trip includes 7 nights of accommodations, daily breakfast, a private welcome dinner, a welcome gift, all scheduled tours and experiences, a local food tour, a hands-on Oaxacan cooking class, mezcal experience, Monte Albán, Hierve el Agua, artisan communities, a salsa lesson and night out, and more.

Flights to and from Oaxaca are not included.
