Event description

Join us at MOD. to welcome our next SA Water Visiting Futurist, Vaughn Tan in residence at MOD. for four weeks over this June and August.

Prof. Vaughn Tan is an independent strategy consultant who works with governments, businesses, and not-for-profits to build effective strategies for adapting to uncertain futures. He is the author of The Uncertainty Mindset (Columbia University Press, 2020), a book about using uncertainty as a strategic tool for designing innovative and adaptable organizations. Vaughn is a Fellow of the Singapore Government Centre for Strategic Futures, an executive board member for Rethink Food in the United States, a founding partner in Dreddge, and Head of Southeast Asia Executive Education for University College London. Previously, he worked for Google in California. He has a PhD in Organizational Behavior and Sociology from Harvard University and Harvard Business School.

The galleries will be open from 5 pm where you can view FOREVER, an exhibition that explores multiple understandings of time, to grow our capacity to see the links between past, present and futures in new ways. Short speeches and activities focusing on dissecting uncertainty and risk will commence at 5:45 pm.

Make connections with the futures and foresight community in South Australia and contribute to strengthening the capability and impact of the field in pursuit of more equitable, prosperous and sustainable futures. The Foresight Community of Practice is jointly hosted by Professor Ariella Helfgott, Program Director Foresight and Decision-Making, One Basin CRC, University of Adelaide; Director Foresight and Strategic Learning, World Energy Council; Director, SA Futures Agency and Dr Lisa Bailey, Director: MOD.

Entry is free with drinks and nibbles provided.
