About the Event

Join The Resilient Activist and Stillpaths for a guided Forest Bathing experience at Unity Village.

Forest Bathing, also known as Shinrin-Yoku, is the practice of slowing down and mindfully connecting with the natural world through the senses. Unlike hiking, the focus is not on distance or exercise, but on being present and noticing the sights, sounds, textures, and other elements of the environment around you.

This two-hour experience will offer time for quiet reflection, sensory awareness, and connection with nature. Participants will be guided through the Forest Bathing process by Hugh Klesch-Sawyer, Certified Forest Therapy Guide and owner of Stillpaths.

The experience will include guided invitations, reflection opportunities, and a Gratitude Tea Ceremony to close our time together.

No previous experience with Forest Bathing or meditation is needed.

Participants will walk on a portion of the Carl Chinnery trail that includes both paved and gravel surfaces. Total walking distance (with multiple stops) is just over a mile.

What to Know Before You Come

  • Meet outside The Fillmore Café at 700 Unity Way.

  • Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes suitable for being outdoors.

  • Bring your own water or beverage container.

  • Participants will be encouraged to silence and put away phones during the guided experience.

  • The event is limited to 20 participants.

About the Guide

Hugh Klesch-Sawyer is the owner of Stillpaths and a Certified Forest Therapy Guide through The Forest Therapy School (IMMA certified). Hugh will guide participants through the Forest Bathing experience and provide opportunities for reflection and connection throughout the afternoon.

Anna Graether will join the event as a representative of The Resilient Activist.

We invite you to spend an afternoon slowing down, connecting with the natural world, and experiencing the restorative practice of Forest Bathing.
