Forest Therapy Walk
Event description
Inspired by the Japanese Public Health Practice ‘Shinrin-yoku’ (also known as ‘Forest Bathing’), Forest Therapy is an evidence-based approach where the restorative power of nature is harnessed to heal many ailments of modern life. Along with reported feelings of peacefulness and relaxation, research shows that Forest Therapy can improve sleep quality, boost the immune system, and reduce blood pressure.
We give you permission to slow down on this mindful wander amongst magnificent River Red Gums and billabongs. Your accredited Forest Therapy Guide will offer different ways for you to reconnect with your senses and immerse yourself in the present through the beautiful sights, sounds, smells, textures and tastes in nature.
Unlike a bushwalk, Forest Therapy is about the journey, not the destination. It is a slow, mindful and quiet way of being in nature. There will be a series of invitations to engage in, and some opportunities to share about the experience in small groups. It is best suited for people who are comfortable with periods of quiet time (approx 1.5-2 hours), moving slowly and interacting with a small group of people.
Tickets are $10 (+GST & booking fee)* per person (ages 16+)
*You will be given a $10 voucher on the day which can be used to purchase plants or towards a Twilight Tour
This event is facilitated by It's Naturally You
